We often make goals for the New Year that cause us to take on something more; a new diet, exercise routine, read more books, manage finances better etc. We often fail because we just can’t maintain the status quo and expect to grow, we need to give up some things first. Also, we often choose to grow in ways that benefit us personally rather than thinking about our friendships and family life.
Here are a few areas to consider:
- Social media
- TV (or any media)
- Extra hours at work
- Extracurricular activities
As a side note, I chose to use the picture of the Eastern Red Cedar seeds for this article because it supports the “Stop and Smell the Roses” idea I am going for. Except that those little seeds are really potent and, unlike a rose, you should definitely stop and smell them.
Happy New Year!
