Black Friday is in 8 days, as of this posting (11/20/2014). Each year America waits for the inevitable gorging of products and trampling of their neighbors…the day after we give thanks for all of our blessings. It is really one of the most disgusting customs we support and is certainly unmanly to allow yourself to be pulled into the materialistic frenzy just to save a few bucks. Before you decide to go to a sale on Black Friday or Gray Thursday (I don’t know what sales are called on Thanksgiving, but they are appalling), take a trip down to the local recycling center, also known as the dump, and have a look at last years sale items. Then, instead of heading out to the stores, make some left-over turkey soup, grab a book, and spend some time praying for the hearts and minds of your countrymen.
Men, let’s do our best to put our obsessions to rest, and take back the holidays that reflect the spirit of good and honorable men.
