The Wolf & Iron Store Launch this Friday (and a discount for Wolf & Iron followers)

Well, it has been a long time coming, and many of you have been patiently waiting, but the Wolf & Iron store is officially set to launch this Friday! I’ll be honest, I’m both excited and a bit nervous.

This year has been amazing. I quit my job in June to focus on Rustic and Main, which has taken off like a shot. Working for myself has also allowed me to focus more time on Wolf & Iron and finally begin enacting the plans I have had stored up for so long (pun intended). I say that I am a bit nervous because, unlike Rustic and Main, which was something of an overnight success — a very long night…about a year, but still pretty quick — Wolf & Iron has been going and growing for several years and that means two things could happen: The store goes nuts and we sell a lot of things, or it could be a bust. Of course, there is the middle area which is more likely, neither frenzy nor famine. But, this store is part of the long term strategy of Wolf & Iron, which is why I’m taking it seriously.

Not Just a “Blog” Store

Having a popular blog or podcast and selling some merch (this is what the cool kids call merchandise), is pretty common. Unless you have a tremendous following there really isn’t a lot of money to be made off of the occasional t-shirt or cap sale. It is a good way to get your audience involved on a personal level, but you may want look elsewhere for practical income.

I knew that when I started the store I wanted it to be more than just a few shirts for the men that follow Wolf & Iron. I wanted it to be a real brand that would draw in men regardless of their previous affiliation with the blog or podcast. I have seen the power of this with Rustic, and so have had something of an epiphany in this area. People see quality and style and they want to connect.

Of course, as we start out the store will mostly be t-shirts, my book, and some prints. However, that’s the Lean way to go about it. We’ll grow when it seems right.

The Mission is Front and Center

Whether men come to Wolf & Iron via the blog, podcast, video, or store, they will encounter the mission: To help men heed the High Call of manful living. There will likely be changes to accommodate the growth of Wolf & Iron, but we will always be mission minded.

USA Made

I have to give credit to my wife here. She’s a true keeper, that one! Looks, brains, looks, and she’s got a good sense about things. While in the early stages of putting together the store, I teetered a bit on my previous commitment to sell only goods that were Made in the USA. She pulled me back and it was absolutely the right decision. The Wolf & Iron store is committed to stocking wares made in the US of A!
